Subscriptions

We need your support as a subscriber to provide the basic operational funding to allow us to serve you!

What Your Subscription Provides:

Around the clock emergency service with trained staff and up-to date equipment. We also provide rescue services as needed.

Up to three non-emergency transports per subscription year, when documented by a physician that ambulance transport is medically necessary up to 200 loaded miles per trip. For trips exceeding 200 miles limit, and additional charge of $12.00 per loaded mile is assessed.

All persons subscribing to this association after May 1st of each year shall be entitled to nonemergency ambulance service as outlined above only, after the expiration of 30 days after the payment of the subscription fee. So get your subscription in now!!

The Wellsboro Firemen's Ambulance Association reserves the right to "third party billing" of applicable insurance carriers.

What Is "Third Party Billing?"

Third party billing is a program that provides reimbursement for ambulance services, hospitals, and physicians. The reimbursement is based on the service rendered to patients before the patient reaches the hospital. In such cases, insurance companies and government programs such as Medicare, may reimburse a portion of the charge.

I Have Good Insurance. Why Should I Subscribe?

First, your subscription is a tax-deductible contribution which helps ensure our operational costs are met to allow us to serve you.

Second, every time you use the ambulance we will submit a claim to your insurance company. When the company approves your claim, the Wellsboro Firemen's Ambulance Association will accept any portion of the claim. If the insurance company denies the claim or makes only a partial payment, the subscriber is not charged for the balance. As a subscriber you are 100% covered for our services.

A non-subscriber can expect to pay $475-$975 and up for an ambulance transport. A subscriber should have no "out-of-pocket" expense. Your subscription is often honored by mutual aid ambulance companies in the county, should you have an emergency occur in another community, or if you change your place of residence.

What Does A Subscription Cost?

Annual subscription fees (May 1st through April 30th) are:
Individual $35 Seasonal Camp $75
Family $50 Business $100

Residents of Wellsboro Borough, Charleston, Delmar, and Shippen Townships are eligible for a Wellsboro Firemen's Ambulance Association's subscription. To subscribe or inquire further, contact us at 570-724-9165.
